Position: 2nd Shift Material Handler

Job Summary

Support the production and repack operations through the physical movement of products that are required to be processed through the drying/curing room.

Responsibilities

  • Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers by hand
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area. Perform duties in compliance with all safety policies and practices.
  • Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.
  • Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
  • Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities.
  • Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
  • Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
  • Position requires the ability to push/pull objects using standard manual pallet jack or similar material handling equipment.
  • Ability to perform duties in a high-temperature environment (150-170 degrees Fahrenheit) for short periods of time (typically less than 5 minutes).
  • Such conditions can be encountered during the storage and retrieval of products from the heat-curing room.

Physical Demands

  • Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
  • Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 2:30pm - 11:00pm
  • Flexibility is a must – hours subject to change based on production schedule
