Responsibilities

  • Ensure loaders and dryers function properly at molding cells during shift.
  • Respond to alarms on dryers, loaders, and grinders.
  • Transport dryers, gaylords, and bins to molding cells.
  • Replace finished run material with new material and clean setup areas.
  • Clean and set up regrinding equipment at presses.
  • Perform routine maintenance on drying, loading, and grinding equipment.
  • Move material from warehouse to staging areas as needed.
  • Maintain order in the main material handling area.

About the role

The Material Handler plays a critical role in keeping production supplied with the materials, equipment, and support needed to operate efficiently. This position prepares and delivers raw materials to manufacturing areas, blends colorants and regrind, manages runners and scrap, and cleans and sets up drying, loading, grinding, and blending equipment. Responsibilities include responding to equipment alarms, staging materials and packaging, supporting mold changeovers, performing routine equipment maintenance, and maintaining an organized material-handling area. Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

What you'll do
  • Ensure proper functioning of loaders and dryers at molding cells throughout the shift.
  • Tend to any alarms related to dryers, loaders, and grinders.
  • Transport dryers, gaylords, and bins to molding cells.
  • Remove completed run material from press and replace with new material.
  • Clean press loading system during tool changeovers.
  • Clean and set up regrinding equipment at presses.
  • Retrieve full runner bins and replace with empty runner bins.
  • Load full runner gaylords onto scrap trailer.
  • Blend materials using the Tumbler.
  • Pre-dry material as necessary.
  • Set up gravimetric blending equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all drying, loading, and grinding equipment.
  • Request material and packaging to be brought from warehouse and move to the proper staging area.
  • Maintain order of main plant material handling area.
Required Qualifications

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in material handling.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, and stooping while carrying a load.
  • Ability to stand and walk for a 8 hour shift.
  • Ability to lift or maneuver 55 pounds.
