Job summary

The Gund Company in Walnut, CA is seeking a Team Lead - Utility Operator for the 2nd shift. You will manage operators, material flow, and training, ensuring safety and quality in a high-precision manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating multiple machines, performing progressive machining, inspecting in-process parts, and maintaining a clean, efficient work area; overtime and flexible scheduling may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with minimal defects.
• Flexible in situations when production needs change.
• Intermediate math skills and aptitude.
• Ability to understand drawing and blueprints.
• Ability to use measuring instruments accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead operators and projects of varying scope and work cells.
• Train and develop less experienced operators in partnership with VSM.
• Complete work order paperwork with focus on quality and productivity.
• Provide guidance and embody The Gund Company's culture of care.
• Ensure tools are safe and in good condition; improve production and order processing.
• Follow safety rules and quality standards; model ethical behavior.
• Set-up and operate machines in multiple families of equipment.
• Perform progressive machining operations with very close tolerances.
• Conduct in-process inspection and maintain a clean work area.
