Job summary

Bell Flavors & Fragrances in Northbrook, IL, is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to support our flavor manufacturing plant. You will maintain, repair, and optimize production equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with CMMS, and the ability to read schematics. You must be able to lift 50 pounds and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree in a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with 110V, 208V, and 460V three-phase electrical systems.
• PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and blueprints.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding is desirable.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces.
• Flexible for overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment.
• Diagnose operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs.
• Safely install, modify, and upgrade plant equipment as required.
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery, reporting potential issues before they escalate.
• Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, and general building infrastructure as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs.
• Utilize CMMS to document maintenance activities.
• Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO, Hot Work, and Electrical Safety Standards.
• Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
• Provide backup support to other Maintenance Technicians when required.
