Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a qualified 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Medford, Wisconsin. The role focuses on running, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems in a large-scale lumber and millwork facility.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems, fabricating parts, and operating welders and forklifts. Benefits include health coverage, retirement contributions, paid vacation, and holiday pay.

Qualifications

2 years of related work history or equivalent education.
Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools.
Experience with 480 volt 3-phase motors, electrical and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings.
Forklift and man lift experience.
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical defects.
Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Run, maintain, and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Dismantle machinery, locate causes of malfunctions, replace parts as needed.
Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements.
Conduct diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment.
Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift.
Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed.
Perform general maintenance safely and keep the work area clean.
Overtime including weekends/holidays during busy production times.
