Job Summary
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.
Shift Times
1st: 5:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
2nd: 4:00pm-2:00am, Monday-Friday
Essential Job Functions
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Required:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. over shoulder height frequently.
- Must have vision correctable to at least 20/50 in one eye.
- Must be able to read numbers, letters, and a dial face clock.
- Must be able to speak and understand enough English to follow simple instructions.
Preferred:
- Two or more years experience in manufacturing.
Proficiency and use of Software, equipment, machines, tools, electronic device necessary for job:
- Drill press
- Grinder
- Pneumatic tools
- Production machines
- Electronic equipment.
