UTLX, part of Marmon Holdings, Inc. backed by Berkshire Hathaway, seeks a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift to maintain plant facilities and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient shop operation.

Candidate will inspect, repair, and service mechanical and electrical systems, read blueprints, and work across multiple facilities within a region. Strong repair skills and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• General mechanical maintenance background required.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to read blueprints and interpret test equipment such as gauges.
• Must be able to pass applicable standardized maintenance tests.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, repairs, replaces and maintains repair-related and plant equipment and facilities.
• Evaluates electrical and mechanical problems and repairs as directed.
• Reads sketches and drawings to install foundations, piping systems, machinery and support equipment.
• Fabricates or installs ladders, guards, rails, brackets, platforms for safe operation.
• Operates plant HVAC, ventilation, pumping and compressor systems.
• Installs conduit, switches, controls and fixtures and wires electrical equipment for new or replacement facilities.
• Dismantles, inspects, repairs or replaces faulty parts and wiring on motors, panels and power distribution.
• Performs work on live electrical lines as required.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and reports hazards.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure proper maintenance of plant facilities and equipment and to facilitate efficient, safe shop operation for our 2nd shift.

Job Responsibilities:

• Installs, inspects, repairs, replaces adjusts and maintains all repair related and plant support machinery and equipment, building facilities, related equipment and systems.
• Evaluates electrical and mechanical problems, and repairs per supervisor’s instructions.
• Works from sketches, drawings, printed written and oral instructions to install foundations, building components, piping systems, manufacturing machinery and support equipment.
• Fabricates and/or installs ladders, guards, railings, brackets, platforms, and related items as required for safe and efficient plant operation.
• Operates plant heating, cooling, ventilation, pumping and compressor systems.
• Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures and wires and connects electrical equipment as required for new installations or replacement of facilities.
• Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts or replaces faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices.
• Performs work on "hot" lines as required.
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• A general mechanical background in maintenance.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read blueprints and interpret test equipment such as gauges.
• Must be able to pass applicable standardized maintenance tests.

Working Conditions:

• Climbs to various heights in order to complete job.
• Exposed to cuts and bruises in handling equipment and tools.
• Exposed to electrical shock and work in elevated areas requiring considerable care to prevent falls and injury to others.
