Job summary

UTLX Manufacturing Incorporated, part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure proper maintenance of plant facilities and equipment and to facilitate efficient, safe shop operation for our 2nd shift.

You will diagnose, troubleshoot, test, and repair electro/mechanical systems and may support multiple facilities within a geographic region. We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within a top-tier team.

Qualifications

• General mechanical background required for maintenance work.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to read blueprints and interpret test equipment such as gauges.
• Must be able to pass applicable standardized maintenance tests.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, repairs, replaces, adjusts and maintains repair equipment, building facilities and related systems.
• Evaluates electrical and mechanical problems and repairs as directed by supervisor.
• Works from sketches, drawings, and instructions to install foundations, piping, machines and support equipment.
• Fabricates or installs ladders, guards, rails, brackets, platforms for safe operation.
• Operates plant heating, cooling, ventilation, pumps and compressors.
• Installs conduit, switches, controls and wires for new installations or replacements.
• Dismantles and repairs faulty parts on motors, generators and control panels.
• Works on hot lines as required.
• Maintains a neat, safe work area and reports hazards.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure proper maintenance of plant facilities and equipment and to facilitate efficient, safe shop operation for our 2nd shift.

Job Responsibilities:

• Installs, inspects, repairs, replaces adjusts and maintains all repair related and plant support machinery and equipment, building facilities, related equipment and systems.
• Evaluates electrical and mechanical problems, and repairs per supervisor’s instructions.
• Works from sketches, drawings, printed written and oral instructions to install foundations, building components, piping systems, manufacturing machinery and support equipment.
• Fabricates and/or installs ladders, guards, railings, brackets, platforms, and related items as required for safe and efficient plant operation.
• Operates plant heating, cooling, ventilation, pumping and compressor systems.
• Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures and wires and connects electrical equipment as required for new installations or replacement of facilities.
• Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts or replaces faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices.
• Performs work on "hot" lines as required.
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• A general mechanical background in maintenance.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read blueprints and interpret test equipment such as gauges.
• Must be able to pass applicable standardized maintenance tests.

Working Conditions:

• Climbs to various heights in order to complete job.
• Exposed to cuts and bruises in handling equipment and tools.
• Exposed to electrical shock and work in elevated areas requiring considerable care to prevent falls and injury to others.
