Job description

Join to apply for the 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician role at TI Fluid Systems.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for completing work orders and planned downtime repairs, including Preventative Maintenance (PMs), working with other Maintenance Team Members. Repairs involve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting. Maintenance Technicians will also participate in continuous improvement activities and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities of the Position
  • Respond promptly to production downtime calls and implement effective countermeasures.
  • Monitor production lines to identify potential causes of downtime.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to determine root causes.
  • Ensure parts used for repairs are checked out properly; notify the tool crib attendant of discrepancies.
  • Manage work orders and perform planned downtime repairs (PMs).
  • Communicate equipment failures to the Technology Manager and Plant Manager.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to change shifts as required.
  • Perform related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Skill Requirements
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues using schematics or tooling prints.
  • Experience with PLCs and hardwired machine control circuits.
  • Experience troubleshooting Robotics (ABB) and Vision Systems (Keyence and Cognex).
  • Steel fabrication skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Preferably 2 years of maintenance experience; training will be provided to the right candidate.
  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering fields preferred.
  • Willingness to pursue ongoing training and education as deemed necessary.
Licensing or Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular movement around, under, and about factory and laboratory equipment.
  • Most work involves standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
Working Conditions
  • Work in automotive manufacturing, office, and laboratory settings with exposure to heat, cold, wet conditions, and fumes/chemicals.
  • Hearing and eye protection required.
  • Steel-toe shoes required.
