Job summary

Description

Summary:
Under the guidance of the department leadership, this role is responsible for executing production strategies and tactical plans at the Astemo Berea Plant. The position collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities and objectives and ensures their effective implementation. This role supports production, while acting as a strategic partner to other departments across the organization. This role exercises independent judgment regularly while operating within established guidelines.

Essential Functions
  1. Open and close factory securely and safely.
  2. Start / stop / operate facilities, utilities and production related equipment.
  3. Operate production-related equipment for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  4. Maintain all facility assets, systems, structures & grounds in a safe and professional manner.
  5. Perform emergency or breakdown repairs as instructed.
  6. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.
  7. Perform equipment modifications, rebuilds, overhauls, and upgrades.
  8. Identify, report, and correct equipment deficiencies.
  9. Report safety and environmental deficiencies.
  10. Relocate, fabricate, modify, or repair assets to meet company needs.
  11. Conduct duties safely and responsibly.
  12. Comply with OSHA requirements.
  13. Complete organizational documentation.
  14. Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must perform duties satisfactorily utilizing current company software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, ERP). Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required. The role requires ethical and professional conduct.

  • Basic welding and fabrication skills.
  • Basic machining knowledge.
  • Strong electrical/electronic circuit, sensor, PLC, CNC, and control system knowledge.
  • Experience with electrical meters, schematics, troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and control systems.
  • Understanding of industrial safety requirements.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, booms, and scissor lifts.
  • Formal technical education in electrical/electronics or mechanical/maintenance technology preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Sitting or standing for long periods; lifting/moving up to 40lbs occasionally.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment, office, and laboratory areas.
