Job summary

MasterBrand Cabinets LLC in Iowa seeks a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment. You will read drawings and work from instructions, performing mechanical operations and ensuring safety.

The role requires the ability to follow lockout/tagout policies, operate with minimal supervision, and lift up to 50 lbs. It is performed in a fast-paced, loud environment with potential exposure to paint fumes and chemicals.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform mechanical repairs and rebuild equipment.
• Diagnose complex equipment failures.
• Follow drawings or verbal instructions.
• Select proper components and installation requirements.
• Use standard mechanic tools and inspection gauges.
• Clean debris and lubricants from parts and tools.
• Store tools in designated places.
• Follow lockout/tagout policy.
• Make temporary fixes and file work orders for permanent repairs.
• Work independently with minimal guidance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, diagnoses, and corrects problems in production and support equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnoses trouble, plans, and performs all mechanical operations necessary to modify, dismantle, repair, overhaul, and rebuild all types of equipment.
• Diagnoses complex equipment failures.
• Works from drawings, verbal instructions or sketches.
• Is able to determine proper components and installation requirements.
• Uses typical mechanic's tools and inspection gages.
• Cleans debris and lubricant from parts, job site and tools.
• Stores tools and equipment in designated places in an organized manner.
• Follows lockout/tag out policy.
• If needs be, makes temporary fixes and writes up work order to follow up with permanent repairs.
• Works independently and with minimal guidance.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knows location of all equipment.
• Ability to read measurement tools.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to or exceeding 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be 8-10 hours)
• Works on ladders, scaffolds and in pits.

Work Environment

• Employees must be able to cope with Iowa climates; endure heat and cold conditions in the building.
• Fast paced workloads and loud noise levels are normal.
• Paint fumes and exposure to chemicals associated may be present.
• Personal Protective Equipment as required by OSHA will be provided by the company.
