Job summary

Gildan is seeking a Maintenance/Engineering - Manager I to supervise the maintenance department at our Martinsville facility. The role leads a multi-shift team, develops maintenance strategies, and ensures safety and environmental compliance while coordinating with other departments.

The ideal candidate will have strong supervisory experience, CMMS and CAD familiarity, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. A High School Diploma is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be well experienced in the general maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems found in a warehouse or similar industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Must possess working knowledge of repairs, maintenance and PM for warehouse or manufacturing systems.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings. CAD experienced preferred.
• Must be familiar with infrared scan, risk assessment, fire and sprinkler, fire pumps and lockout / tagout processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct the resources of the Maintenance Department across multiple shifts, including 12 hour weekend shifts with varying skill levels.
• Supervise and develop the maintenance team; manage scheduling, workflow, and vendor coordination.
• Develop PMs in the CMMS, assign corrective and preventive work orders, and perform audits on completed work.
• Collaborate with other departments to synchronize maintenance and safety-related requests.
• Coordinate contracted labor and work with 1st shift supervisor, supply coordinator, controls engineer and reliability technician on projects.
• Ensure facility and maintenance staff compliance with Safety, Environment and Training requirements.
