Job summary

UTLX is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure proper maintenance of plant facilities and equipment for our 2nd shift in Valdosta, Georgia. You will diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electro/mechanical systems to keep shop operations efficient and safe.

The role requires reading blueprints, handling electrical and mechanical tasks, and passing maintenance tests. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a strong team culture within Marmon Holdings.

Qualifications

• General mechanical background in maintenance.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to read blueprints and interpret test equipment.
• Must be able to pass applicable standardized maintenance tests.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, repairs, replaces and maintains repair related equipment and plant systems.
• Evaluates electrical and mechanical problems and repairs per supervisor instructions.
• Works from sketches, drawings, and instructions to install foundations, piping and machinery.
• Fabricates/install guards, ladders, platforms for safe operation.
• Operates plant heating, cooling, ventilation, pumping and compressor systems.
• Dismantles and repairs motors, generators, power distribution and control panels.
