Job summary

Ferrara Candy Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift (10:30pm–7:00am) to ensure continuous operation of plant equipment. The role involves repairing electrical and mechanical systems, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting production through equipment changes and improvements.

Knowledge of motors, sensors, controllers, hydraulics and pneumatics is essential. Candidates should have a maintenance certification and be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills are required.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair and replace malfunctioning parts on motors, sensors, controllers and related equipment.
• Lubricate and adjust machinery to maintain efficiency and reliability.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance per schedule.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and ladder logic to diagnose problems and learn operation.
• Install new equipment and changes to production lines as needed.
• Document maintenance activities and communicate issues to the shift supervisor.
