Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Harvey, IL facility on 2nd shift (3pm–11pm). You will install, maintain and repair plant electronic equipment and contribute to safe, efficient operations.

A strong background in troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems is required, with ability to read blueprints and train apprentices. The role offers benefits and overtime as needed; the pay is approximately $40.90/hr with factors influencing placement, including experience

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial manufacturing environments.
• Strong time management and ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to pass post-offer drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical malfunctions.
• Dismantle devices to access defective parts and replace them.
• Lap and hone bearings.
• Clean and lubricate machine components.
• Use precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Measure, cut, and install pipe and tubing; drill and tap.
• Repair gauges, valves, and plumbing equipment; clear drains.
• Connect or disconnect electrical equipment as needed.
• Perform construction and rigging activities.
• Prepare for and assist in zinc pot repair.
• Record work performed and materials used via the maintenance system.
• Work on ladders/scaffolds and in difficult positions; read blueprints.
• Train Apprentices as assigned and operate a lift truck when required.
• Keep work areas clean and be available for overtime.
