Job summary

Nucor’s Western Metals Recycling division is hiring a Maintenance Helper for the 2nd shift in Salt Lake City, UT. You will assist the maintenance team by readying equipment for heavy maintenance and preparing the site for the next shift.

The role requires physical labor, flexibility with overtime and rotating shifts, and a willingness to learn to operate forklift, skid steer, and aerial lift. A strong emphasis on safety and teamwork is expected in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 2nd shift (4:00PM–4:00AM)
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule incl. overtime and rotating shifts
• Willingness to learn to operate forklift, skid steer, and aerial lift
• Able to perform basic physical labor and maintenance
• Demonstrates safety-first mindset and adherence to safety policies
• Strong communication skills for clear handoffs and team coordination
• Proven teamwork and reliability in a fast-paced environment
• Shows initiative and accountability in completing tasks and improving processes

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance team by preparing industrial equipment for heavy maintenance
• Prepare site for operation during the next shift
• Identify and report maintenance issues; participate in overtime as needed
• Get trained to operate forklift, skid steer, or aerial lift as required
