Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice Technician to learn a multi-craft trade in a manufacturing environment. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, reading blueprints, and performing a range of trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and welding.

You will operate hand and power tools, complete work orders, assist with inspections, and uphold strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Desire to learn a multi-craft trade in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
• Ability to apply various principles in skilled-trades areas.
• Complying with safety and operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Basic PC skills.
• Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.
• Must have good performance work history and excellent attendance history.
• Must be self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, machines, hydraulic systems, conveyors, steam systems and related plant equipment.
• Read blueprints, schematics and manuals to fix and maintain equipment.
• Carry out maintenance tasks across plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding and other trades as appropriate.
• Operate hand and power tools to repair and fabricate parts and equipment.
• Complete work orders and paperwork for daily maintenance and repair duties.
• Assist with plant inspections and address mechanical and equipment problems.
• Follow safety policies to maintain a safe and efficient work environment; wear PPE as required.
• Keep work areas and facilities clean and safe; may perform janitorial tasks.
• Work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
