Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Opa Locka, FL is seeking a Plater for 2nd shift to prepare and finish parts for chrome, nickel, and cadmium processes. The role is onsite and requires reading blueprints and operating basic machines.

You will perform sandblasting, degreasing, and racking, with training provided; HS diploma or GED required, and prior machine shop experience preferred. Work hours are 2:45pm–11:15pm, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. GED).
• Able to work 2nd shift 2:45pm–11:15pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Produce machined parts by setting up and operating CNC or manual machines.
• Use precision hand measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Take measurements and select appropriate machines for the process.
• Perform machining setup and adjust as required.
• Conduct inspection of work produced.
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications.
• Keep records and maintain safety and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned
