Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Florida is hiring a Plater for our Opa Locka facility. The role focuses on mechanical blasting and preparing parts for finishing processes, including chrome, nickel, and cadmium treatments. You will sandblast, degrease, rack components, and ensure readiness for subsequent operations.

The position is 2nd shift, 2:45pm–11:15pm, Monday–Friday, with first-shift training. Candidates should have a HS diploma and prior experience in manufacturing or aerospace environments.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) in US.
• Able to work 2nd shift 2:45pm–11:15pm.
• Experience in manufacturing or machine shop.
• Experience interpreting machine codes.
• Experience in aerospace or MRO preferred.
• Machine trade school experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC or manual machines to produce parts.
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Take measurements and select appropriate machines for the process.
• Perform machining setup and adjustments.
• Inspect finished work for quality.
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, materials and dimensional requirements.
• Keep records and maintain quality safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
