Job summary

John Deere in Waterloo, IA, is seeking a 2nd Shift Machining Supervisor for JD Power Systems. You will supervise wage staff, drive lean manufacturing, and ensure safe, quality production on a 2nd shift.

The role requires leadership in a unionized environment, machining expertise (CNC, fixturing, gaging), CAD/tools ( Creo, PDMLink ), and a proven track record in Lean and continuous improvement. Onsite position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a manufacturing/union environment.
• Machining knowledge including CNC, fixturing and cutting tools.
• Understanding of gaging principles and quality systems.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo preferred) and data systems (PDMLink).

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of wage employees to safely deliver quality products.
• Develop lean manufacturing plans to support Deere Production System.
• Manage onboarding, development, discipline and performance evaluations.
• Design and develop fixtures or gauges; create CAD models/drawings (CREO/PDMLink).
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement using lean principles.
• Coordinate maintenance to maximize uptime and stay within budget.
