Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC is partnering with a leading manufacturer in Mankato, MN to hire a Machine Setup Technician for a Direct Hire role. You will set up and operate production equipment, maintain safety and quality standards, and support continuous improvement on the shop floor.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, good math and measurement skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. This is a permanent position with full benefits, located in Mankato, MN.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good mechanical/technical ability and aptitude.
• Related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Post-secondary education recommended.
• Strong work ethic and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate production machinery to meet targeted production rates and quality specifications.
• Proficiently set up 3 of 8 primary machine groups on hire with on-the-job training for remaining groups.
• Monitor machine run conditions to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Perform material handling to ensure uninterrupted shop flow.
• Troubleshoot basic production/equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Document setup procedures, machine parameters, and production output in logs.
