Job summary

Filtration Group is seeking a production operator to perform machine operations and assist with setup in a manufacturing environment in Joliet, IL. You will maintain quality, safety, and efficiency while recording daily production data and scrapping logs.

The ideal candidate reads, writes, and counts, with good hand‑eye coordination and effective communication. Flexible hours and adherence to safety rules are required, with English proficiency preferred.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Follow all plant and departmental safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine operations as assigned by Production Lead or Manager.
  • Setup and operate assigned machines in department/cell.
  • Maintain quality and safety in work.
  • Maintain work pace at standard rates.
  • Report any tool, equipment, fixture, material, or setup issues to supervisor.
  • Keep daily product and scrap records.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.
  • Keep workstation and surrounding area clean.

Responsibilities
  • To perform any of the machine operations as assigned by the Production Lead or Production Manager.
  • Has the ability and proficiency to setup and operate assigned machine(s) in department/cell.
  • Works in a quality conscious and safe manner.
  • Ability to perform work at process speed and/or standard rates.
  • Advises Production Lead or Production Manager of any problems with tools, equipment, fixtures, materials, or setup operation.
  • Maintains daily product and scrap records.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Production Lead.
  • Keeps workstation and surrounding area clean.
  • Maintain all assigned tools.
  • Any other duties required by management.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be able to read, write, and count.
  • Good hand‑eye coordination. Effective communication skills.
  • Must be able to work sitting or standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Follow all plant and departmental safety rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to speak, read or write English preferred.
  • 2–3 years’ work experience in related field a plus.
Physical/Mental Demands

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, lift, move, and handle products, materials, tools, and controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, periodically may sit, reach with hands and arms, walk, or climb with legs and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, pull, bend, twist, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Good manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination are required.

Working Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, it can be loud for periods of time while working near equipment which is in operation. Hearing protection and safety glasses may be required. Employee must be able to hear forklift horn. The employee must be able to work alone for extended periods of time and also must be able to work with others as required. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
