Job summary

Custom Engineering Co. in Erie, PA is hiring on 1st and 2nd shift for a Full-time Machine Operator with steel industry experience. The role offers up to $24.00/hour BOE, including a $2.00/hour shift differential, plus benefits.

You will set up machines, measure tolerances with calipers, micrometers, and gauges, read blueprints, and perform in-process inspections to ensure quality. Growth opportunities exist through performance.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd shift Full-time Machine Operator with experience in the steel industry to join our team at our Erie, PA location. The position offers an hourly rate of up to $24.00 BOE (Which includes our $2.00/Hr shift differential) and the benefits shown below. Requirements

MACHINE OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and remove work pieces from a machine per procedure
• Proficiently use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and gauges to ensure conformance of specified tolerances
• Ability to perform in-process inspections at a machine and adjust various offsets to ensure conformance of workpieces as required
• Position and secure workpieces on machines using measuring instruments, holding devices, hand tools, and cranes
• Study blueprints, lay outs, sketches, and work orders to determine tolerances and work procedures
• Ability to recognize tooling types -- facemill, drill, taps, etc.

Requirements

• Knowledge of addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals and calculate tooling speeds/feeds
• Prior machining experience
• Knowledge in general machining practices
