Job summary

SMS Staffing is hiring a Machine Operator for a role near Columbia, IL. The position is temp to hire with pay at $19.75 per hour and a 4:30 PM–3:00 AM shift from Monday to Thursday.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of machine operating experience and can perform setup, calibration, operation, and monitoring of production machinery. The role includes lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional heavier lifts with assistance.

• Experience in production/manufacturing environment
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain quality standards
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on role

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, operate, and monitor production machinery
• Fill, seal, and package liquid products with accuracy
• Perform machine adjustments, changeovers, diagnose and basic troubleshooting
• Conduct quality checks to ensure proper fill levels and product quality
• Use hand tools and measuring instruments as needed
• Maintain production records and follow work instructions
• Lift to 50 lbs regularly (occasionally 100+ lbs with assistance)
