Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Lead Building Technician for 2nd shift to direct a team of building operators and oversee maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, and BAS systems. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to respond to emergencies 24/7 as needed.

You will manage service delivery, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with Honeywell and facility management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years as a Journeyman or 10 years in facilities maintenance or related field.
• BC trade qualification in mechanical or building trades (electrical or plumbing preferred).
• 4th Class Power Engineering Ticket preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pass appropriate security checks.
• Immunization as per Public Health Act and client requirements.
• Strong knowledge of building systems: mechanical, electrical, BAS, CMMS, etc.
• Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls as directed by Honeywell Help Desk or Facility Manager.
• Prioritize and complete scheduled work, refer major problems for escalation.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and arrange repairs.
• Follow safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance with standards.
• Document maintenance activity and complete required reports.
• Provide technical guidance to building operators.
• Be familiar with building operation and oversee facility maintenance.
• Ensure work is timely and cost-effective per codes and contracts.
• Assist in reviewing plans for maintenance services.
