Job summary

Grand Valley Manufacturing Co. in Titusville, PA seeks a 2nd Shift Manual Lathe Operator to join our team. This full-time role offers a 2nd shift differential and a robust benefits package including 401(k) with employer match, medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, paid vacation and holidays.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, set up lathes, perform pre-ops, inspect parts, and work safely in a production environment with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Technical degree in machining preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to read, write, and comprehend instructions. Must be able to understand and follow detailed/complex information in written or verbal format.
• Strong mathematical skills and high attention to detail; experience with inspection tools like calipers, tape measures, micrometers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized work and safe practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Perform pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to set up machine and operate with correct tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Operate machines according to procedures and guidelines.
• Perform in-process inspection of parts and adjust settings for accuracy and timeliness.
• Safely lift and maneuver parts using hoists/cranes/forklift as needed.
• Communicate with team to ensure high-quality production with minimal waste.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and identify maintenance or operation issues.
