Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System is seeking a laboratory support specialist to receive and process requisitions and specimens, and to order lab tests following SOPs. You will respond to phone requests and accurately enter lab data into the system.

Ideal candidates will have a diploma or GED, with preferred associates degree in chemistry/biology and MLA certification. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree with chemistry and biology coursework preferred.
• MLA certification from a recognized agency (ASCP or AMT) preferred.
• Previous work experience strongly preferred.
• Keyboarding 40 wpm preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle patient information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive/process requisitions and specimens and order lab tests per SOPs.
• Respond to phone requests and enter lab test data into computer.
