About the Opportunity
A major food manufacturing facility in the Central Valley is seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Technician to join their maintenance team. This role requires strong ammonia refrigeration knowledge and hands‑on experience maintaining complex industrial equipment in a regulated production environment.
If you have worked in canneries, food plants, cold storage, industrial refrigeration, or high‑volume manufacturing, you will be a strong match.
What You’ll Do
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia systems experience highly preferred).
Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, PLC‑controlled equipment, and industrial electrical components.
Read and interpret schematics, prints, and technical instructions.
Inspect systems regularly to identify potential issues before breakdowns occur.
Assist with basic utility corridor repairs and general plant maintenance tasks.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company and industry standards.
Follow all safety policies, including USDA, QA, HACCP, RETA, IIAR, and sanitation procedures.
Document work, maintain compliance records, and communicate deviations or concerns with leadership.
Collaborate with maintenance leads and supervisors on process improvements and efficiency projects.
What We’re Looking For
1+ year of industrial refrigeration experience required
Preferred certifications (not required): CARO, CIRO, CRST, ARTS or equivalent
High school diploma or GED
Note: If you have industrial refrigeration experience but do not yet have ammonia certification, training may be available for qualified candidates.
