Job summary

Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (AWG) is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for 2nd shift at Hernando, MS. You will oversee warehouse staff, supervise order picking, and ensure timely, accurate shipping and receiving for member stores.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety standards, coaching employees, managing shift staffing, and coordinating with the Warehouse Manager to meet daily goals and maintain cost controls.

Qualifications

• One to two years supervisory experience and/or experience working in a grocery warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse employees in basic functions of housing products in the warehouse, selecting orders, and preparing for delivery to members in the most efficient manner.
• Responsible for the productive, timely and quality shipment and/or receiving of all products for member stores.
• Increase production and effectively utilize the work force to maximize efficiency and reduce warehouse operating expenses.
• Direct the placement of the work force responding to the changing needs during the shift.
• Hire, train, develop, recognize, and evaluate the performance of all employees on the shift.
• Enforcement and education of company safety, sanitation, security and standards of operation.
• Responsible for reducing safety risks and minimizing exposure by working with team to ensure all safety policies and practices are followed.
• Administer disciplinary action per divisional policies and procedures.
• Oversee the resolution of employee complaints or grievances to facilitate a proper resolution.
• Communicate to the Warehouse Manager problem areas, improvements, etc., regarding the warehouse center’s operation.
