Job summary

Greif is seeking an entry-level IBC Blow Mold Operator for the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm) at our Alsip, IL facility. Under direct supervision, you will operate and set up various assembly machinery, perform visual inspections, conduct quality checks, and assist in changeovers to keep production efficient.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with up to 2 years of relevant experience, and a teamwork-oriented mindset. Safety compliance and data entry may be part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Receives the bottle from the blow molder, performs visual inspection, removes flashes, checks for contamination, weight, installs metal head on bottle, leak tests and plugs, ensuring quality control.
• Verifies the quality of work in process and finished goods; conducts and assists in changeovers.
• Grinds flash and rejected parts.
• Performs housekeeping duties such as sweeping, storing product, materials, tooling, and supplies.
• Performs inventory counts of component parts as needed.
• Uses Pallet Jack to transport product to designated areas.
• May ensure data entry processes are implemented.
• Adheres to safety observances, uses PPE, checks guards and safety features, and promotes daily safety practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

035221 2nd Shift: IBC Blow Mold Operator (Open)

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Under direct supervision, performs entry-level routine activities associated with various types of assembly machine operation and/or setup.

2nd Shift

3pm-11:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Receives the bottle from the blow molder, realizes a visual inspection, removes the remaining flashes, checks the bottle's for Contamination, weight, Install Metal Head on bottle, leak test and install plugs.
• Complete Verifies the quality of all work in process and all finished goods. To conduct and assist in changeovers.
• Grinding of flash and rejected parts
• Performs housekeeping duties such as sweeping, storing product, materials, tooling, and supplies.
• Performs count of inventory of component parts as needed.
• Pallet Jack utilization to transport product to designated area.
• May ensure that data entry processes are implemented.
• Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge And Skills

• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
