Job summary

UAH College of Business seeks an HVAC & Water Treatment Technician to keep campus buildings running safely. You will mix mechanical maintenance with industrial water chemistry, run tests on campus water systems and install, tune, and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.

This second shift (Mon-Fri, 12:00 PM-10:00 PM) carries differential pay. Requirements include high school diploma, 4 years HVAC experience, EPA refrigerant certification, ability to read blueprints, and familiarity

Qualifications

• 4 years of full-time HVAC experience (trade school counts)
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and basic electrical safety
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• 1–2 years water treatment chemical handling, dosing and testing
• EPA refrigerant handling certification required
• Independent judgment and physical ability to perform duties

Responsibilities

• Water Treatment & Chemical Control: collect samples, test, dose chemicals and manage contaminants.
• HVAC & Preventive Maintenance: daily checks, BAS monitoring, diagnose and repair HVAC systems.
• Documentation, Project Support & Technology: update work orders, estimate hours/parts, coordinate with contractors.
• Safety & Customer Service: adhere to OSHA/NFPA 70E, keep site clean, communicate with campus community.
