Job summary

Kenworth Sales Company in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a Service Technician (2nd Shift) to perform high-quality repairs on customer equipment and make recommendations for additional services.

This role requires a minimum of 5 years in medium and/or heavy truck repair, a VA State Inspector certification or willingness to obtain it, and a valid CDL (A or B) or willingness to obtain one. Candidates should be self-motivated with strong communication skills and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• VA State Inspector certification or willingness to obtain.
• Valid class A or B CDL or willingness to obtain.
• PACCAR, Cummins, and CAT certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.

Responsibilities

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman.
• Performs work in order and in a timely and thorough manner with high workmanship standards.
• Advises Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
• Determines if further repairs should be recommended and communicates to the Shop Foreman.
• Maintains training and experience with equipment and servicing techniques.
• Attends required training sessions.
• Performs additional repairs as required when defective workmanship is identified.
• Maintains accurate work order records and time entries.
