Job summary

PADNOS, a full-service recycling company, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Lansing, MI. You will inspect and maintain a range of equipment including semi-tractors and trailers, diagnose hydraulic/electrical failures, and perform repairs with attention to safety and quality.

You will also complete all required paperwork and work independently or with a team. The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical ability, problem solving, and collaboration with colleagues to keep equipment running

Qualifications

• 1+ year of diesel mechanic-related experience or related military training.
• Welding and torching knowledge is helpful but not required.
• Strong math and mechanical aptitude and safety consciousness are essential.
• Related experience and ability to repair semi tractors & trailers; good communication; ability to work alone or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment (semi tractors, trailers, machinery).
• Repair hydraulics, electrical and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose repairs; complete required paperwork.
