Xylem is seeking a 2nd shift assembler at AWS Cheektowaga to read blueprints and assemble shell and tube heat exchangers. You will ensure parts meet specifications, maintain tolerances, and operate crane equipment as needed within a manufacturing floor setting.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of manufacturing assembly experience, a High School diploma or GED, and the ability to pass a written test. This on-site role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork on the production line.

Aufgaben

• Receive instructions, prints and/or work orders.
• Plan and perform a wide variety of assembly operations.
• Maintain close tolerance and alignment.
• Rig and operate department crane to handle, move and position parts and/or units.
• Perform work requiring knowledge of practice and techniques and operation of equipment, tools, fixtures and instruments.
• Lubricate and clean equipment daily.
• Observe all Safety and Shop Rules.
• Assist and/or train new employees in job classification.
• Inspect work with gauges to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Plan and perform gasket cutting operations.
• Apply adhesives and gasketing to all Heat Exchangers as required.
