Job summary

McGill Compost in Waverly, VA is seeking a General Laborer for the 2nd shift to support daily composting, production, and site operations. The role requires physical work, teamwork, and adherence to safety policies.

You will assist with material handling, equipment cleanup, and site maintenance while contributing to high-quality compost and soil products for agriculture and the environment. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties throughout the facility and compost site.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Remove debris and maintain housekeeping standards throughout the site.
• Support equipment operators and production personnel as needed.
• Assist with compost production and processing activities.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
