Job summary

McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a 2nd shift General Laborer to support our composting and organics recycling facility in Morrisville, PA. You'll perform housekeeping, grounds maintenance, and production support, outdoors in varied weather, contributing to high-quality compost, mulch, and soil products.

The 2:30 PM–11:00 PM shift runs Monday–Friday with potential overtime. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability in a growing environmental company with full benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, landscaping, agriculture, recycling, or general labor environments preferred.
• Ability to work safely in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Keep grounds, ramps, screening areas, and shop facilities clean and organized.
• Perform weed eating, shoveling, painting, and other grounds maintenance tasks.
• Clean and prepare processing bays and production areas.
• Assist with equipment cleaning and routine maintenance activities.
• Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations.

The Role

As a General Laborer, you play a vital role in keeping our facility clean, organized, safe, and operating efficiently. You'll support production and maintenance teams by performing housekeeping, grounds maintenance, equipment cleaning, and general labor duties throughout the site.

This is a hands‑on position where your efforts directly contribute to producing high-quality compost, mulch, and soil products that support agriculture, landscaping, and environmental sustainability.

Every task you complete helps maintain a safe workplace and keeps production moving smoothly.

What You’ll Do

• Keep grounds, ramps, screening areas, and shop facilities clean and organized
• Perform weed eating, shoveling, painting, and other grounds maintenance tasks
• Clean and prepare processing bays and production areas
• Assist with equipment cleaning and routine maintenance activities
• Support maintenance technicians with repair and upkeep projects
• Organize tools, parts, and supplies
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures
• Maintain accountability for company‑issued tools and equipment
• Perform housekeeping duties throughout the facility
• Complete other tasks assigned by supervisors

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Driver's License required
• Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, landscaping, agriculture, recycling, or general labor environments preferred
• Ability to work safely in a production environment
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to work around dust, dirt, mud, noise, and strong odors
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use hand tools, shovels, and cleaning equipment
• Ability to work on uneven terrain and around heavy equipment
• Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments
• Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and high‑visibility clothing
