Job summary

The Habitat Company is seeking a Garage Attendant for Park Tower Condominium in Chicago, IL. This temporary, 2nd-shift role involves managing guest parking, assisting residents and visitors, and maintaining curb appeal with a professional appearance and attitude.

You will greet the public, report emergencies, answer questions, and ensure safe driving and compliance with policies. High school diploma preferred; prior valet experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• A valid, current state driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be capable of handling a variety of serious responsibilities.
• Positive, friendly attitude and ability to interact well with residents and guests.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations.
• Able to answer basic questions about the building.
• Must stand for long periods.
• Basic arithmetic using US currency.
• Maintain confidentiality of work material.
• Follow written and verbal directions and work independently.
• Adapt to sudden changes and unforeseen events.
• Effective communication with residents, guests and employees.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior valet experience preferred.
• Drive manual transmission a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents, visitors, staff, and others professionally.
• Immediately report emergency maintenance requests to management.
• Ascertain nature of business and direct visitors to the appropriate department.
• Assist with frequently asked questions.
• Interface between building and public; assist people inside and outside the building.
• Inspect each vehicle before taking possession and log findings.
• Inform customers of guest parking rates.
• Report any accidents, safety hazards or policy violations to supervisors.
• Submit a complete written report of activities at end of each shift.
• Observe traffic laws and safe driving practices.
• All other duties as assigned.

The Garage Attendant will assist the rest of the staff, as directed, in their efforts to manage the property in an efficient manner in the enhancement and maintenance of curb appeal.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Report to work on time for every scheduled shift.
• Arrive with and maintain a neat and clean appearance in complete uniform before and during scheduled shifts.
• Greet residents, visitors, staff, and others in a professional and courteous manner.
• Immediately report emergency maintenance requests to the management office.
• Ascertain nature of business and direct visitors or callers to appropriate department or person.
• Assist with frequently asked questions.
• Assist people both in and out of the building, and serve as the interface of the building with the general public.
• Inspect each vehicle before taking possession and mark tickets of findings.
• Inform customers of guest parking rates.
• Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to supervisors.
• Submit a complete written report of activities to the management office at the end of every shift.
• Observe all traffic laws and safe driving practices.
• All other duties as assigned.
