This position is responsible for the stacking process for a rewind transformer. Hours are Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 2:30am
Day to day this role includes:
- Using a caliper and tape measure to create precise measurement which are used in the rewind process.
- Using a series of hand tools to complete the stacking of core steel.
- Cutting transformer lids
- Basic data entry into labor system (MOM)
- Practicing safe behaviors by wearing proper protective equipment when handling core steel.
- May operate overhead crane or forklift as necessary.
- Must be willing and able to complete repetitive processes and stand for 8-10 hours a day.
- Cross train on set up, and teardown as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- High School or GED preferred
- OSHA10 certified, preferred
- 1 year experience in paint manufacturing, preferred
- 1 year experience material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.), preferred
- Knowledge of basic hand tools preferred
- A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
- Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders.
- Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
- Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
- Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
- Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.
- Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
- Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
- Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Safety protocols require the completion and passing of a respiratory fit test
- Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
- Standing and walking for long durations
- Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
- The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
- Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
- Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
