Job summary

Andersen Corporation in Bayport, MN is seeking a qualified forklift operator to efficiently sort, ship, receive and move material throughout the plant. You will follow standard work, safety rules and quality specs while supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least 3 years forklift experience, PIT licensing, and the ability to lift 75 pounds; training and cross-training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic (or intermediate) computer skills.
• Ability to read invoices, packing slips, emails and reports to determine correct location for delivery.
• Must be able to operate multiple types of PIT (forklift, walkie rider, etc.).
• PIT training / PIT license required for all tasks.
• Minimum 3 years forklift experience.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds repetitively.
• Understanding of Lockout/Tagout.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, problem solve and utilize teamwork competencies.
• Dependability/punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to standard work, JBA’s, control plans, work instructions and quality specifications.
• Complies with safety parameters to protect equipment, facility and co-workers.
• Support and participate in Continuous Improvement and safety interactions.
• Identify problems and implement fixes using AMS tools and standards for continuous improvement.
• Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.
• Rotate through multiple duties (sorting, loading/unloading, cross-docking, etc.).
• Follow loading/unloading processes; load units without fork damage.
• Create bills of lading, verify deliveries and ensure correct location.
• Stage material for inbound/outbound shipping and cross-docked material.
• Provide advanced training to other operators and cross-train across teams.
• Assist with training co-workers and support a respectful workplace.
• Adhere to zero Waste to Landfill guidelines.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
