Job summary

HandyTube Corporation, a leader in seamless tubing, is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift (4:00 PM to 2:10 AM, Monday through Thursday) to transform steel coils into finished tube products. You will set up, monitor, and adjust machines, ensuring we meet tight specifications and maintain safety standards in a lean manufacturing environment.

The role requires attention to detail, good math and communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred, especially tubing.
• Able to read and interpret job orders, quality specs and safety instructions.
• Proficient with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong math and mechanical reasoning abilities.
• Capable of working in a team.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine, observe operation, and inspect first run and sample pieces to ensure conformance to specs.
• Read job orders and specifications (quality, size).
• Adjust equipment to meet production requirements (speeds, feeds).
• Perform lubrication and preventive maintenance as required.
• Cross-train on additional equipment to maximize production goals.
• Maintain a neat, organized work area and participate in lean activities.
