Job summary

Samsung Electronics Perú is seeking a Fire Protection Specialist for the second shift at our Newberry, SC site. You will oversee inspections, maintain fire systems, and develop safety plans to protect people and property.

Responsibilities include testing alarms, conducting fire safety training, coordinating with local fire departments, and updating evacuation and safety plans in response to code changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's or associate degree in fire science/engineering preferred.
• Minimum 4 years' fire prevention/protection experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Inspect extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and other fire protection equipment for proper operation.
• Test fire alarm systems to ensure they function correctly.
• Investigate fires to determine cause and suggest prevention measures.
• Prepare reports on findings and present to management.
• Train employees on fire safety procedures and evacuation plans.
• Coordinate with local fire departments to ensure code compliance.
• Inspect buildings for fire hazards and collaborate with architects/engineers on fire safety.
• Install fire suppression systems in new buildings.
• Monitor changes in building codes and revise plans accordingly.
