Job summary

Seneca Foods Corporation in Hart, Michigan is hiring a 2nd Shift Finished Goods Warehouse Forklift Operator to load, unload, and move finished goods and supplies between trucks and storage areas. You will interpret shipping orders, perform pre-load inspections, and maintain accurate inventory per FIFO.

We seek a hands-on, safety-minded individual with the ability to read and write English, communicate effectively, and a basic mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Pass forklift written test and driving test.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Some mechanical skills.
• High School or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload, load, transfer, and stack finished goods and supplies to and from trucks.
• Interpret shipping orders or receiving reports to determine items to be loaded/unloaded.
• Complete pre-load inspection and BOL.
• Ability to stack and unstack pallets of products in rows, up to 5 high.
• Check product for quality, accuracy, and proper shipping information.
• Scan all ticket movement and maintain FIFO according to scanning system.
• Daily forklift inspection; ensure batteries charged and maintained.
• Maintain proper weight distribution and load security on rail cars and trucks.
• Operate propane and battery counter-balance lift trucks as well as standup lift trucks.
• Maintain good housekeeping in department and warehouses.
• Other duties as assigned or required by Management.
