Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrications Production Manager in Brooklyn Park, MN. This leadership role guides the Fabrications and Machining teams to meet PQVC performance goals while ensuring safety and quality on the shop floor.

The successful candidate will implement Lean practices, manage workload and priorities, and develop staff to sustain continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
• Ability to apply knowledge of problem solving to diverse situations.
• Experience leading teams in manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment.
• Determine processing needs to assure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements.
• Daily tie-in with production management to designate work load, priorities and sequence for work assigned.
• Determine overtime need, establish priorities when resources are insufficient, and evaluate when disciplinary action is necessary.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency; work to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value-added activities.
• Ensure the quality of product produced and conforms to Caterpillar's Quality Policy while maintaining cost.
• Implement corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS / ISO certification.
• Train and develop staff, perform time keeping, estimate personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, and ensure consistent application of organizational needs.

Caterpillar is seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrications Production Manager in Brooklyn Park. In this role, you will guide a team in the Fabrications and Machining departments for Caterpillar Paving Products with a focus on achieving your team’s People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) performance goals!

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
