Caterpillar Inc. in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrications Production Manager to lead the Fabrications and Machining teams. You will drive PQVC performance and implement safety, quality and cost initiatives on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include planning workload, scheduling, managing overtime, and coaching staff while aligning with Caterpillar's Quality Policy and continuous improvement programs. This role offers a 7% shift premium.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a manufacturing team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and QCMS/ISO concepts.
• Proven problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and meet production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; maintain a safe environment.
• Determine processing needs to ensure fixtures, tooling and methods meet schedules.
• Daily tie-in with production management to designate workload and priorities.
• Determine overtime needs and prioritize resources when limited.
• Suggest changes to improve efficiency and reduce non-value-added activities.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to Caterpillar Quality Policy.
• Train and develop staff and manage timekeeping and staffing.

Job Description

Caterpillar is seeking a 2nd ShiftFabricationsProduction Manager in Brooklyn Park. In this role, you will guide a teamin the Fabrications and Machining departmentsfor Caterpillar Paving Products with a focus on achieving your team’s People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) performance goals!

What you can look forward to in this role:

• Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment.




• Determineprocessing needs toassurefixtures,tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements.




• Daily tie-in with production management todesignatework load, priorities andsequencefor work assigned.




• Determineovertime need,establishpriorities when resources are insufficient, and evaluate when disciplinary action is necessary.




• Suggest changes in working conditions anduseof equipment to increase efficiency. Works to improve processes,timelinessand reduce costs byeliminatingnon-value-added activities.




• Ensure the quality of product produced andconformsto Caterpillars Quality Policy whilemaintainingcost.




• Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System) / ISO certification, etc.




• Train and develop staff, perform time keeping, estimate personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, and ensure consistent application of organizational needs.

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
