2nd Shift Elbows and Nipples Machine Operator

This position reports to

Production Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities
  1. Operate specialty machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move products, ensuring safety, production, and quality standards are met.
  2. Conduct quality checks using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  3. Maintain activity and production logs for each shift, documenting approved and defective parts and final product counts.
  4. Perform daily preventive maintenance on machinery and identify deficiencies, suggesting solutions as needed.
  5. Work 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday, with overtime as required to meet customer demand.
Qualifications for the role
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing scenarios, including different machines, products, volumes, or teams.
  • Ability to learn and follow safety, quality, and productivity requirements.
  • Multi-tasking skills, including loading raw materials, monitoring heat and mold operations, performing quality checks, packing, and maintaining logs.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to understand and communicate detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
  • Problem-solving skills in standardized situations with some variables.
  • Ability to work in a high-noise environment, standing for long periods, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting or pushing weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility in shift scheduling, including overtime and holiday shifts.
  • Must have valid work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
