Job summary

The Lafayette Engine Center in Lafayette, IN, is seeking a Distribution Production Manager for the 2nd shift to oversee a complex production line, prepare schedules, resolve issues, and ensure safety and quality standards.

You will supervise production-line workers, train staff, manage scheduling, and promote continuous improvement while aligning with Caterpillar’s safety and performance expectations.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Experience in supervisory or leadership roles.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create reports and records of production processes, tool issues, performance, and inventory; share them with managers and propose safety/ productivity/ quality improvements.
• Prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensure processes meet safety and quality standards.
• Supervise and direct daily activities of production-line workers; assign tasks, coordinate teams, ensure safety, monitor performance.
• Train new hires, manage scheduling and work conflicts, monitor safety, and promote internal communication for collaboration and continuous improvement.
