Job summary

DATTCO, a family-owned transportation company, seeks a full-time 2nd shift Diesel Technician/Mechanic at our Coach & Tour Fleet Maintenance facility in Watertown, CT. This role offers growth, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs ondiesel buses and trucks, completing repair orders, and on-road service as needed. Candidates should have 5+ years in vehicle repair, a CDL and DOT medical card, and ASE

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school completed.
• Minimum 5+ years in automotive, truck or bus repair.
• Must have CDL license or eligibility and DOT medical card.
• Hold ASE certifications or be willing to obtain them.

• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on a variety of vehicles.
• Performs diagnostic and repair work on all types of vehicles.
• Completes required paperwork with regards to repair orders and parts usage.
• Makes road calls and uses the proper tools; follows supervisor instructions.

DATTCO currently has a full-time 2nd shift Diesel Technician/Mechanic opening at our Coach and Tour Fleet Maintenance location in Watertown, CT.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on a variety of vehicles
• Performs diagnostic and repair work on all types of vehicles
• Completes required paperwork with regards to repair orders and parts usage
• Makes road calls
• Own and maintain the proper hand tools to perform job functions
• Follow orders of the shop foreman or other supervisor

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma, trade school or equivalent
• 5+ years training or experience in the field of automotive, truck or bus repair
• Driver’s license and DOT medical card
• Hold, or be eligible to, hold a CDL license
• Hold, or be willing to work toward, ASE certifications
• Adequate English verbal and written communication skills
• Physical strength and conditioning to perform all required tasks
