Job summary

College of Lake County is seeking a Custodian for the 2nd shift at the Lakeshore Campus. You will maintain cleanliness across campus buildings, assist in snow removal, set up rooms, and operate custodial equipment.

The role emphasizes safety, inclusion, and high standards of tidy spaces for students and staff. The position is full-time with a 40-hour work week, on-site schedule, and a $17.37/hour base pay plus a $0.50 shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and over 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Cleans interior and exterior areas of buildings, including floors, windows, and diffusers.
• Maintains cleanliness of entrances, restrooms, offices, lounges, corridors, and waste receptacles.
• Assists in snow removal and in room setups, furniture moves, and stage setups.
• Operates custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, burnishers, and extraction machines.
• Adheres to college policies and promotes values of integrity, inclusion, unity, purpose, compassion and excellence.
