Job summary

Sonnax Transmission is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Setup/Operator to join our team in a dynamic Continuous Improvement environment. You will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes (Haas, Hardinge, Mitsubishi) to produce parts to print specifications, interpretation of drawings and tooling sheets, and ensure quality per tolerances.

The role requires two years of machining experience, strong attention to detail, PPE compliance, and commitment to workplace safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years machining experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and to use and read precision measuring tools.
• Understanding of basic shop math including decimal/fraction conversion.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings to understand tolerances of the parts to be machined.
• Setup and operate CNC machines to meet parts per hour requirements.
• Perform quality checks and make necessary adjustments to hold dimensions and tolerances.
• Make necessary offset and program adjustments or request program updates from programmer to hold tolerances to print specifications.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform daily preventative maintenance.

This position will be responsible for the setting up and operation of CNC mills and lathes to produce parts to print specifications. Machine types include Haas, Hardinge and Mitsubishi lathes and mills.
