GENERAL PURPOSE

Operates a variety of complex equipment or specific automated machinery or tools to fabricate, manufacture, assemble or move products meeting all necessary specifications and quality control standards. Maintains and monitors machinery and tools to ensure proper function. Produces a high quality product delivered in a timely manner to satisfy customers. Solves problems with the assistance of other team members and seeks continuous improvement. Completes all activities with a high regard for the safety of others and oneself. May serve as area trainer on specific equipment and / or processes, and assist in development of departmental / functional guidelines.

Essential Functions
  • Operates a variety of complex equipment or specific automated machinery or tools to fabricate, manufacture, assemble or move products meeting all necessary specifications and quality control standards.
  • Maintains and monitors machinery and tools to ensure proper function.
  • Calculates and derives dimensional information from all types of dimensional drawings. Completes required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.
  • Conducts activities to setup, load, operate, diagnose, debug and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
  • Consistently performs to and assists in developing Standard Work Instructions at each process and requests changes when needed.
  • Performs, understands, and utilizes SPC/Quality checks with measuring tools and reacts to specification data.
  • Develops and teaches preventative/pro-active technical maintenance. Assists in developing safety guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment according to 5S principles and safety guidelines. Leads and participates in improvement activities. Operates machinery at required rates.
  • Reads, interprets routings/drawings/BOMs to ensure quality. Rotates through work stations based on needs.
  • Trains others and develops training tools as needed.
  • Communicates effectively. Maintains regular attendance and works overtime as needed.
  • Works varied hours based on business needs.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent or demonstrated performance in a manufacturing environment. Minimum 1 year of experience operating machinery, reading drawings, and using information systems. Skills in basic math, measuring tools, preventative maintenance, and teamwork. Ability to adapt to changing environments.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, handle, reach; lift up to 50 lbs; specific vision abilities; communicate effectively.
